Monarch Butterflies

I had a post last week about Monarch Butterflies. They are a lot of fun to try to shoot. MY experience with them has been on the California coast at the Monarch Butterfly Grove in Pismo Beach. From about December through February, they migrate into the area for the winter and to mate. The grove is particularly interesting because they tend to cluster in these huge groups on the eucalyptus trees in the area. If you are ever in the area for a visit during the winter it's well worth a visit. The picture below shows how they cluster like fruit on the trees. Look close, they almost look like leaves.

Today's image is from that grove, one of a Monarch Butterfly hanging from a blade of grass. Thanks for looking and enjoy!
