I have always enjoyed the look and feel of real wood. Whether it's finished or not, rough or smooth, it's a winner in my book. There's no argument that a fine piece of furniture is desirable in one's home or office. A dead tree silhouette in a painting, video or photograph adds a lot of drama. To me, the texture of wood just feels right when you're at the table or your desk. In texture photography, the trick with wood is to represent the grain you can feel and touch with an image that is flat. The log ends on this cabin protruded about 2 feet giving me ample opportunities for a texture study of this wood. When you look at it, can you feel how rough the surface is in your mind's eye? I sure can. Enjoy the image, thanks for looking and have an awesome weekend everyone!
