Ye Old Flutterby

I wonder where the term butterfly came from. Anyone know why they're called butterflies? I don't think they look anything like butter. Hmmmm... maybe if you were to slice off a pad of butter and flick it! I don't know. It seems to me that flutterby more accurately describes what they do in flight. At any rate, I have no idea what species of butterfly today's image is but it's kind of a cool shot. An overhead view with the insects proboscus inserted into the blossom to collect the nectar. Enjoy!
